3 Winning Moves For Social Media

When you implement and learn powerful ways to boost your Internet marketing presence…You’ll be in the zone of boosting your bank account.  Let’s look at 3 simple things that will lead you to a winning social media strategy.  Also, things to avoid so that you don’t come off as a “Rookie in the Social Media World” of the 21st Century.

Today, the new landscape of social media has placed the opportunity in front of business owners to be able to network and touch more lives than the traditional local belly to belly stuff that we all do in our businesses.

Regardless if what anyone thinks of social networking sites, the fact is that they are here to stay.  They’ll continue to evolve as everything in the online world does…but they will exist long term.  Why do you think for the first time in Super Bowl History major advertisers have pulled their spots?  They will put their money into social media platforms instead since there is more value “eyeballs” opportunity to build ”fans” in the social media arena these days.

Let’s look at three simple ways you can begin or even enhance your social media strategies so that you can boost your presence and bottom line.

1-  Don’t make the mistake of going out and thinking if you collect a zillion contacts via Face Book, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn etc. you’ll have it made.  I see this all too often being taught as a strategy for direct sales and networking online.  Go out and add as many people as possible and get busy sending out messages, meeting invites and tweets.  This is not a good idea…it’s a rookie move for sure.

Instead your goal should be to build relationships.  If you go to a local networking event and just collect a stack of business cards what do you have?  A stack of business cards 3 Winning Social Media Strategies   If you collect the cards at the same time share some value with the person you collect  the card from and then send them more value then you’re building a relationship with value in it.  So start to view your contact process on any social site as a long-term relationship.  Ask yourself if you really know the people that are following you on your social sites…or are they just followers that you know nothing about.  I guarantee you that the business person with a smaller list of followers that has taken time to build relationships and value with those followers will have more profits than the business owner with a huge list of contacts and fewer relationships/value established.  Go into to your connection process with the goal of creating “Raving Fans” and see how that changes your overall success.

Tip-  You can in less than a few minutes time read  a bit about a person in their profile to see what they love to do and what they are involved in now.  Where they went to school, what hobbies they love if they have a family, grandkids etc..  If you have a true connect point in common then let them know when you send them a request.   Don’t just friend request someone you haven’t even looked at in terms if there is a true connection point between the two of you.

Also, don’t make your friend requests about them looking into what you’re doing they don’t give a rat’s and it’s a turn off to come across like that.  Act professional.  You wouldn’t go into a networking event and approach someone get their card and then pitch them on your idea/attempt to close business on your first contact so don’t do it in the social networking arena either.  If you do you’ll look like a “Rookie” and most likely won’t get a second shot to build that long-term relationship.

2-  I’ll keep this short since I went into detail in item number 1.  Go into your social media sites with a specific purpose in mind.  You will get more business this way.  Keep in mind that you’re not on the social sites for the sole purpose of collecting customers “sales”.   It’s a bigger vision of what can you share in the way of your expertise and value so that others are naturally attracted to you and can learn more about who you are.  People do business with people they know, like and trust.  Use your social media platform to let others get to know you, like you and trust you over time.  This will happen when you build a plan with a purpose that is solid.  When you build a social media strategy with specific purpose you can have it all done in 2 hours a week.  This is just one of the many things I’ve been able to learn and implement in my business that is making a big difference.

3-  Go ahead and get personal…all business all the time makes for a very dull business man or woman.  Chances are you have some interesting hobbies and things that you love to do outside of business time.  Share that side of you so people can relate to you and connect more easily.  If you collect something unique, have a special breed of dog or cat. Something big is happening in your life you want to share…Do it.  Whatever you love to do in life share it and you’ll instantly become more real to your contacts.

In a nutshell, we are in the midst of a huge social media boom a time where the business owners who experiment and embrace this boom will be a part of the revolution that shapes social media history.  I’m on board with it and having a blast learning and implementing.

7 Steps To Leadership in Your Home Based Business

7 Steps To Leadership in Your Home Based BusinessWhether you’re a newbie just starting out in your home based business or you’re a struggling marketer due to lack of posture, this 7 step plan will begin the process of positioning you as the leader people are seeking.

What ever place you find yourself and your business in as you read this you’ll soon see that you can get all 7 of these steps implemented in your business within the next 30 days.

1.  Start a personal development routine. Be committed every day to consume books, CD’s, tapes, and make sure to include leadership topics.  One of my favorites authors on Leadership is John Maxwell.  Spend at least 30 minutes in the early am or pm before you drift all will do.  It’s important that you make it a daily habit.

2.  Create and publish content via videos, articles, blogs, emails etc. on what you’re learning and implementing.  People will be automatically attracted to you because you can teach them something they are seeking to learn.

3.  Know the common objections that prospects will have about joining your business opportunity so that you are quick on your feet.  One of the biggest fears of marketers is to talk to people about their business. They’re terrified that that they won’t know what to say and how to handle objections. They fear rejection.  If you know the common objections and the answers you have no fear and really no rejection it’s simple stuff.

4.  Study from some of the best business trainers in the market like Jeffrey Combs he is a master asker and a master at closing sales,  Learning what Jeffrey teaches will give you posture so you can effectively and easily handle objections.  You will learn about different personality types, procrastination and all kinds of valuable topics.  Developing your posture in your phone conversations which will demonstrate your leadership abilities.

5.  Know how to help a new business partner enroll into your business. Have a step by step plan for them by creating a welcome email that gives them a process to get started fast in their business.  Provide a training platform for them to learn internet marketing. This training platform should be step by step video training.  Most people are visual learners and want to be shown how to do things.   Meet with your new business partners weekly to answer their questions, keep them focused and on track with their next steps in the marketing process and to encourage them.

6.  In your ad copy, talk about your training platform, your one on one coaching, your webinars and reassure them that you are committed to their success.  In your marketing materials share business building tips and know-how. Offer resources and why they may want to use them. Give away your best stuff this is what leaders do.

7.  Take on the role of a Teacher, Mentor and Coach in your business and new team members will follow your lead.  Be active in your business, implementing your marketing, leading by example. Again, this is what internet marketing, home based business leaders do.

Cheers to your success-  Sharon Ann Irwin

Its not about picking your Niche!

Its not about picking your Niche!

The True Key is Discovery!

I wanted to share some insights today about why it’s not really about picking a niche.  Especially as it relates to the world of information and Internet marketing.  I’ve heard and seen plenty of people including myself say “If I could just decide what niche to focus on!”  It’s not about picking a niche, it’s really about discovering the hottest niche and filling it with solutions.

Let’s take a look at what a niche is anyway…If you asked around to your peers you may hear a niche is a group of people that you select to market something to.  They are all assuming it’s a group that you choose or decide upon.

Now let’s see the word niche from the view of how it’s really defined… a niche can mean a hollow or recess in a wall or possibly a nest.  In biology, the word may be used to define a place in the ecosystem where a particular animal or organism is perfectly suited.  A real key to remember as an Internet marketer, especially when dealing with informational products, is that Products Fill Niches in Markets!  So a market niche is a need that many people have that your product fills.  You’re really looking for the unmet needs.

Coming from the mindset that the product fills a need within a niche, it’s quite simple to see that a niche is not something that just gets picked like a selection off a dinner menu.  It’s something that must be found and uncovered or discovered so it can be solved.

One of the biggest things that prevents people from getting their business into high gear or even getting started is the inability to target a good niche.  A suggestion so that you’re not spinning your wheels and wasting valuable time would be to not look at it as picking your niche.  The way to nail down a good solid niche is to go find an area where there is a group of people who have needs that aren’t getting met.

There are simple ways to find these things out…just ask your audience what their biggest frustrations are or look around at all of the forums in your industry and see what people are saying and asking for.  A need that is unmet is a great place to insert value and a solution.

In review it’s simple, don’t think of your niche as something you pick.  It’s a process of discovering needs that are not met and then filling in the gap with valuable solutions.

To your success-  Sharon Ann Irwin

How to create an effective E zine that brings value to your readers.

How to create an effective E zine that brings value to your readers. The basic elements of every e-zine are your business information, a personal greeting, a value section, product information (tie it to your value section if you can), and links for more information embedded throughout.  The embedded links can be things like your website, privacy information, and how customers can opt in or out.  Let’s take a quick look at each of the main elements and how you can create them.

Your business information area- is where you would put things like your logo, business name and contact information- including your phone number, e-mail address, website URL and a physical address.  Simple basic things!

Your personal greeting section-  is where you have an opportunity to connect directly with your customers.  Keep it in line with your overall theme but do offer an emotional appeal.  If you’re planning on outsourcing your e-zine, this would be the area that you still write.  There is no way to fake authenticity.  Talk about what’s important to you this month, it can be a challenge that you overcame as an example.  If you’re introducing something new, you can put it there as something that has been up with you…the work that went into it and the excitement for the new product launch.  You get the idea.

The Value Section- this will be the real heart an soul of your e-zine, it is what will keep your readers coming back for more month after month!  The main goal is to simply offer information that will be valuable to your readers.  This can be something that will save them time, money or it can be insights that will get them going into new directions in business that they may have never dreamed possible before reading your value section!  You can include things such as articles, Q & A, reviews, interviews, statistics and even articles written by others.  You won’t need each of these in every e-zine you publish, so set up a rotation and have fun with it.

Here’s a cool strategy…work to get customer interaction going within your value section by featuring a customer profile each month.  Ask questions about their biggest challenges and then you can provide value when you follow-up in the e-zine with solutions.

Most important is to know that this is just another way to stay in front of your customers and continue to deliver value, which is what people want.  Set yourself apart from the average crowd and focus on helping as many people as you can to get to their goals.  The best part about the world of New Media Marketing such as an e-zine, is your readers will be grateful and become raving fans of yours.  Also, they will be more than happy to send referrals due to the value you put into their hands.
