4 Big Reasons to add green tea to your day!

4 Big Reasons to add green tea to your day!Have you seen all the buzz over green tea?  Curious about the real benefits you’ll get by adding it in or increasing your daily dose if you already drink it?  Well quickly today I’ll share what I’ve learned and what I like so you can stop wondering and start benefiting!

It has been written about and documented in many publications and offers many health benefits to anyone who drinks it regularly.  Green tea contains a very powerful plant nutrient known as epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG for short.  You don’t have to remember this, so don’t sweat it…just read on to learn how it benefits you.

1)  Looking to burn some fat? EGCG will increase the rate that your body can get the job done.

2)  Green Tea shows that it may be helpful in fighting multiple forms of cancer even halting growth in some types.  Take a look around in all the medical publications and find all of the research studies that back this up.  It’s very impressive and exciting news.

2)  Green tea keeps energy stable by getting your blood sugar into balance.  EGCG improves how your body uses insulin which steps in and prevents sugar spikes and crashes.  Ever feel fatigue, irritability and cravings for unhealthy foods?  Green tea to the rescue - it’s your friend in preventing these nasty feelings.

3)  Green tea may prevent skin damage and wrinkles.  I’ve used vitamin E to destroy skin damage…but it appears EGCG is 200 times more powerful than the Big E at destroying skin damaging radicals.  The ugly free radicals take our healthy cells in the body and cause damage, so if we can reduce the numbers we may be helping reduce wrinkling and other signs of aging.  A huge bonus is that free radicals are not only blamed for the aging of our skin, but think of the aging of our bodies with the free radicals that are linked to many serious illnesses like arthritis, diabetes, and cancer which I already mentioned.  Green tea has the potent antioxident that can kill ugly nasty free radicals.  This one area only is worth all of the benefits of drinking your green tea daily.

4)  It tastes good.  At first you may not be wild about the flavor, but keep going ’til you find a blend that your palate is happy with.  You may be like me here in the first days of summer saying it’s too hot for tea…go ahead and ice it down.  If you need it to have a little zing and freshness, squeeze a little lemon in and you’re good to go.  If you are looking to make it sweet, go with the natural herb stevia to get you there.

Most of the experts will say to have 3 cups a day…don’t worry about the caffeine, green tea has a ton less than coffee or black tea.  Enjoy!

Safety, something you should not look for…

Safety, something you should not look for…

Instead, look to the future for Joy –  it’s a better option.

Let me explain…While on your journey, it is a good idea to remember that security “safety” and joy may not come in the same package.  They can…but they also may not.  Really, there is no guarantee.

As my journey has taken me on highs, lows, and back to highs again…I’ve realized that there are no guarantees.  If you’re setting your sights on certainty or safety and you’re making it an all or nothing requirement in your life, you’re setting yourself up to be disappointed.

If your primary concern is a guarantee of security, you may never experience the truest joys of life.  Most of all, you will miss the best moments living in the security zone.  This is not a suggestion to go out and become reckless, but it is an invitation to at least start to become more daring.  Fill your soul and your emotional gas tank with plenty of courage, character, and determination.

This will give you strength and agility to make it through anything that may come your way and it will keep you focused on powering forward.  This kind of power will allow you to seize each day and live your dreams.

Move boldly and do the right things now that will fuel your future.  You don’t have to ask anyone else what it takes to succeed - it’s right inside of your heart, so grab it and go.  You have all that you require to make each day your best.  To be the leader that others are looking for.

Get out of your head and into your heart so you can live with passion and more joy.  If you’re waiting on the perfect day, a day with total security, you’ll be waiting a lifetime.  Do you really want to arrive at your grave safely by tip toeing through your life?

That’s it for my post today, I challenge you to let go if you’re holding on to things that are keeping you from true joy, love, and happiness!  Ask yourself this key question each day…How am I being?  See what it does for you.

Celebrating your special day today Mom...sending our love to you in heaven!

Celebrating your special day today Mom...sending our love to you in heaven!Another Birthday is upon you.  It’s hard to believe you’re celebrating your 62nd Birthday in Heaven.  It seems so crazy that you’ve been celebrating in heaven for over 20 years now.  We are all singing you a special song today and know that you hear us.  We’re so very grateful to have you as our Mom.Your love lives on in our hearts and souls.  Your family has grown so much since you’ve been gone.  Your beautiful little grandkids are all singing, dancing, and laughing for your special day today.  I’m sure they will blow out your candles and sneak some frosting on their fingertips before you can cut your cake.   Devin will be the one to get in there first since he gets so excited about birthday cakes and candles.  I’m sure Kayla and Johnanthony will fight a bit over who gets a piece of cake first.  Shane, your first grandchild, is so big now that he’s known for taking care of everyone.  He is such an incredible young man, you’d be so proud.

Kayla saw you last summer in our yard, a beautiful free butterfly floating not far from her.  I said “Hey Kayla, look it’s Grandma Kay.”  She asked me “Mommy, why is Grandma Kay scared of me?  I wanted her to land on my finger but she won’t.”  She chased you around the yard a bit.  I said that you were not scared of her, you just liked being free and floated around and came by from time to time to say ”Hi” and see us.  One night while watching a show about mothers and daughters, I shed several tears wishing you were still here with us.  Kayla said “Mommy why are you crying?”  I said, “It’s okay honey, I just miss your Grandma Kay.”  She said, “It’ll be okay mommy, she will come see us again in the backyard when we are swimming in my pool.”  That made me smile and warmed my heart.

Wishing you the best birthday ever Mom!  You deserve all that your heart desires and I know you have total peace and fulfillment in heaven above.  Thanks for being the world’s greatest Mom and the angel on my shoulder as I grew up and continue to evolve.  I know the wisdom and care you gave to Kathleen, Sara, and me as children were special gifts to make us the best Moms ourselves.  Kathleen reminds me of you so much she seems like an exact replica of you.  Sara Kay is an awesome step-mom now and she has a huge heart of gold just like you.  I know my heart has your voice inside and I’m so grateful to be your daughter.

Until we meet again Mom keep living your life as a free beautiful butterfly.  Happy Birthday from your girls, your grandkids, and of course Dad. The hole in his heart from the day you left for heaven is sure to never fade away. He sends you his love.

Love you always-  Sharon Ann

P.S. The photo I attached is a special memorial decal that Kathleen had made to remember you!  I put mine on a mirror in our half bathroom.  It is our Hawaiian bathroom.  Since you and I talked about going there together, I felt it was a good place to put the special memorial mirror.  I’ve been over there several times now and have collected some special pieces of art from the trips, so you’re surrounded by the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.

We will celebrate you again this weekend - “Happy Mother’s Day” a little early!
