4 Big Reasons to add green tea to your day!

4 Big Reasons to add green tea to your day!Have you seen all the buzz over green tea?  Curious about the real benefits you’ll get by adding it in or increasing your daily dose if you already drink it?  Well quickly today I’ll share what I’ve learned and what I like so you can stop wondering and start benefiting!

It has been written about and documented in many publications and offers many health benefits to anyone who drinks it regularly.  Green tea contains a very powerful plant nutrient known as epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG for short.  You don’t have to remember this, so don’t sweat it…just read on to learn how it benefits you.

1)  Looking to burn some fat? EGCG will increase the rate that your body can get the job done.

2)  Green Tea shows that it may be helpful in fighting multiple forms of cancer even halting growth in some types.  Take a look around in all the medical publications and find all of the research studies that back this up.  It’s very impressive and exciting news.

2)  Green tea keeps energy stable by getting your blood sugar into balance.  EGCG improves how your body uses insulin which steps in and prevents sugar spikes and crashes.  Ever feel fatigue, irritability and cravings for unhealthy foods?  Green tea to the rescue - it’s your friend in preventing these nasty feelings.

3)  Green tea may prevent skin damage and wrinkles.  I’ve used vitamin E to destroy skin damage…but it appears EGCG is 200 times more powerful than the Big E at destroying skin damaging radicals.  The ugly free radicals take our healthy cells in the body and cause damage, so if we can reduce the numbers we may be helping reduce wrinkling and other signs of aging.  A huge bonus is that free radicals are not only blamed for the aging of our skin, but think of the aging of our bodies with the free radicals that are linked to many serious illnesses like arthritis, diabetes, and cancer which I already mentioned.  Green tea has the potent antioxident that can kill ugly nasty free radicals.  This one area only is worth all of the benefits of drinking your green tea daily.

4)  It tastes good.  At first you may not be wild about the flavor, but keep going ’til you find a blend that your palate is happy with.  You may be like me here in the first days of summer saying it’s too hot for tea…go ahead and ice it down.  If you need it to have a little zing and freshness, squeeze a little lemon in and you’re good to go.  If you are looking to make it sweet, go with the natural herb stevia to get you there.

Most of the experts will say to have 3 cups a day…don’t worry about the caffeine, green tea has a ton less than coffee or black tea.  Enjoy!
